The brother I shared the lower bunk with turned out to be an expert freight forwarder specializing in air cargo from China to the Middle East.

As of today, I’ve been at Sunny Freight Forwarder for a week. The company provided me with a dormitory, and I share a bunk bed with a colleague. He often works overtime and comes back late. Every time he returns, we chat for a while. Because I know nothing about freight forwarding, my questions are very basic, but he is never impatient and very patiently shares his experience with me.

I’ve always only known that he is responsible for China-to-Middle-East air freight forwarding. Since we are on a Middle East air freight line, I felt he must be very professional. He said: in Shenzhen, if he can’t solve Middle East air freight, then almost no one else can solve it either. He was very confident, and I really admire him.

Yesterday I also asked him about the transit time for Middle East air freight. He said it usually takes about 3 days. I asked: can it be faster? He said: if the customer is very urgent and does not care about cost, it can be delivered the same day.

I also asked: for China-to-Middle-East air freight forwarding fees, is it better to charge by volume or by weight? He said it depends on the goods, and there are industry rules—just follow the rules. Generally, freight companies charge whichever is greater. I asked from the customer’s perspective, which method is most cost-effective? He said: by weight. I understood, but if the volume is too large, then it still has to be charged by volume.

Last night we talked about how he learned related knowledge when he first entered the freight forwarding industry. He said: at the beginning, whenever I encountered a problem, I recorded it in a spreadsheet, then asked seniors for answers. Every freight forwarding question I encountered, I would record it. Guess how many entries I wrote?

I said I didn’t know—maybe a few hundred? He said: more than that. I recorded over 1,000 entries. I was shocked and sat up from the upper bunk, looking at him and said: really? So many questions? He said: when you truly put effort into learning this industry, at the beginning everything is a question. I asked industry seniors every day, and they also got annoyed, so I could only record everything myself, try to ask less, and figure things out on my own. If I couldn’t understand, I would search for materials, and only ask seniors when I couldn’t find answers.

From the bottom of my heart, I admire him. His attitude toward learning is serious and dedicated, and he has many years of experience in this industry. That’s why the company put him in charge of the China-to-Middle-East air freight line. He also told me many difficult problems he has encountered and his solutions. I will gradually share them with everyone later.

Of course, our company’s Middle East air freight line ranks in the top 5 domestically. We have exclusive contracts for 20 airline cargo slots per week with two major airlines—very few competitors dare to do this.

In addition to Middle East air freight, we also have many other logistics routes, including sea freight, air freight, and rail freight. With nearly 30 years of experience, Sunny Freight Forwarder has a 99% on-time rate, except in cases of natural disasters or force majeure. If you need freight forwarding services, tell us your cargo type, volume, weight, destination, and expected delivery time. Our professional colleagues will provide solutions immediately, including rail, sea, and air transport, as well as customized combined logistics to reduce your cost or delivery time.
